Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows wasn’t too bad. As most story books adaptions are, the movie didn’t quite match the literature but the results were highly entertaining at the very least. First, I quite liked the variation on the Harry Potter theme during the opening of the first part of Deathly Hallows. I thought the name “Albus Severus Potter” was ridiculous but I couldn’t help noticing Hermione’s Burberry coat in the last scene at the train station.
I totally cracked at Dobby’s line, “Dobby didn’t mean to kill, Dobby just wanted to maim…or seriously injure!” when he tried to drop the chandelier over Bellatrix’s head in Part 1.
I thought Helena Bonham Carter’s acting as Hermione under the Polyjuice Potion and as Bellatrix very impressive. There was so much contrast and for a while I was really convinced it was Watson’s impersonation of her.
I wanted to go “Awwwww!” when Snape revealed his thoughts to Harry via his memory in the Pensieve. Few would have guessed the gruesome Potions master was really a sentimental man. His hatred for Harry must have been his love for Lily (Harry’s mother). Perfect soundtrack to that should be Yuna’s ‘Dan Sebenarnya’.
Love the awkward moment when Voldermort hugged Malfoy, when the Dark Lord thought he had finally conquered Hogwarts. SUPER LOVE the awkward moment when Voldermort thought Neville Longbottom was going to join him.
